A lot of spoilers regarding the upcoming season of Modern Family have been shared in interviews and articles over the past few days. We have a roundup of everything you need to know about Season 3 of Modern Family, but if you don't want to know the plot details then look away now!
Season 3 Premiere: As we previously reported, the third season will open with a family holiday at a dude ranch in Wyoming. TV Line learnt a little more about the trip: The family head to a dude ranch after Phil's Family Camp idea is shot down. While at the dude ranch, Phil tries hard to show Jay that he is a worthy son-in-law by shooting guns and roping things. When Mitchell and Cameron decide to adopt a baby boy, they start to doubt whether they have what it takes to raise a boy, so they use the trip to rediscover their macho sides. Meanwhile, TV Guide reports that Tim Blake Nelson, best known for his role in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? will be guest starring as a cowboy in the episode. They also say Dylan will be going along to the Dude Ranch with Haley.
Co-creator spills the beans: Modern Family co-creator and executive producer Christopher Lloyd shared a lot of spoilers with TV Line in his recent interview. It's only August but the Modern Family Christmas episode is already planned and will see Gloria paired off with Luke, Phil with Manny and Mitchell with Alex, according to Lloyd's TV Line interview. Lloyd also said that while we're unlikely to meet Phil's largely than live mother, they hope to have Fred Willard back as Phil's dad.
Benjamin Bratt to return: Benjamin Bratt, who plays Gloria's ex and Manny's father Javier, will be returning to the show this season, according to Inside TV. The show's executive producer Christopher Lloyd told EW.com that "Jay (Ed O'Neill) feels possessive of Manny for the first time and wonders what he's allowed to do and what he isn't as his step-dad. The [racetrack] backdrop becomes kind of a competition between Jay and Javier for Manny."
Meet the new Lily: While Cameron and Mitchell plan to adopt a new child, their current child will look different when the show returns this fall. The role of Lily has been recast and she will now be played by 4-year-old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. They grow up so fast, don't they? InsideTV has an exclusive photo showing the new Lily.
