Eric Stonestreet won his second Emmy award at the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy awards tonight. The actor took home the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award for his role as Cameron Tucker on Modern Family. Stonestreet first won this award in 2010 for his work on the first season of Modern Family.
This was Stonestreet's third consecutive nomination for the award, having been nominated every year since Modern Family began. All of Modern Family's six adult stars were nominated for an award this year, as they also were last year. The stars of Modern Family all chose to submit for the supporting categories, as the cast of Friends famously did.
The male stars of Modern Family dominated the Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category, accounting for four of the six nominations. Along with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burell and Ed O'Neill, Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader and New Girl's Max Greenfield were also nominated.
