Last night's momentous episode of Modern Family finished second in its time slot in viewers, rising to first in the crucial 18-49 demo. Modern Family was up in the ratings for the third week as it delivered its best numbers since December.
"The Wedding (Part 2)", which finally saw Cameron and Mitchell get married, was watched by 10.45 million people, adding 1.37m people over last week and up on last year's season finale with 10m. Modern Family was second to Fox's American Idol in viewers.
Modern Family rose to first place in the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.7/11 rating, up five notches from the previous episode's 3.2/10 to match the rating of the fourth season finale. Modern Family was the night's highest-rated show in the demo.
