Modern Family received four nominations at the 39th People's Choice Awards, which announced its nominees last Thursday.
Modern Family was nominated for the Favorite Network TV Comedy award for the third consecutive year. The other contenders for the award are last year's winner How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Glee and New Girl.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell were both nominated in the Favorite TV Comedy Actor category. This is the first nomination for both actors, who face competition from Chris Colfer (Glee), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother).
Sofia Vergara was nominated for the Favorite TV Comedy Actress award for the first time. The actress goes up against Glee's Jane Lynch and Lea Michele, The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco - who is hosting the award cermony, and New Girl's Zooey Deschanel.
Voting for the awards is now open. You can cast your vote over at the PeoplesChoice.com website. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS on Wednesday, January 9 and will be hosted by Kaley Cuoco.
