Wednesday night's episode of Modern Family slipped to second place in the ratings in total viewers, but remained strong in the key adults 18-49 demographic. TV viewership was down across the board this week though, owing to Halloween and the continuing impact of Hurricane Sandy.

"Yard Sale" was watched by 10.62 million people, down sharply from 12.52 million the week before. Modern Family ranked behind CBS's Criminal Minds in total viewers and households for the first time this season. In the key adults 18-49 demographic, Modern Family continued its dominance with a 4.2/12 rating - still down sharply from the 4.9/13 rating of the last episode - to finish first in the demo. Modern Family was the night's highest-rated show in the demo for the fifth week running. The show also ranked first among adults 18-43 and adults 25-54.
