Yesterday's Modern Family episode finished a strong second in the key 18-49 demo and in third place overall.

"Virgin Territory" was watched by 11.54 million people, down sharply from last week's audience of 12.90m to a season-low. The show finished behind Fox's American Idol and CBS's Criminal Minds in households and total viewers. In the important adults 18-49 demographic, Modern Family ranked second with a 4.8/12, up slightly from last week's 4.7/12.

There was some good news in last night's ratings, Modern Family beat American Idol by a best-ever 27% in the Adults 18-34 demo to rank as the night's top show in the demo.
