Modern Family cast wins SAG Award

The cast of Modern Family received their second Screen Actors Guild award last night at a ceremony in Los Angeles. The show took home the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series award.

This was Modern Family's third nomination and second consecutive win for the ensemble award. The show beat out competition from 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Glee and The Office to win the award.

Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet were both nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category, though the award went to 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin for the sixth consecutive year. Veteran Golden Girls actor Betty White won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award, for which both Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara had been nominated, for her work on the sitcom Hot in Cleveland.
