Modern Family renewed in two-season deal

Modern Family renewed in two-season deal

ABC has renewed Modern Family for another two seasons, taking the show through to its tenth season in 2018/19, the network announced yesterday.

This is the first multi-season deal for Modern Family, which airs its eighth season finale next week.

The deal calls for two seasons of twenty-two episodes each, taking the show's total episode count to at least 232 episodes by the end of the deal.

Press reports indicate all the adult members of the Modern Family cast have signed new contracts, although discussions with the younger cast members are still ongoing.

Speaking about the renewal, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said "Modern Family has been the centerpiece of our comedy brand for 8 seasons and we are thrilled to have it on our schedule for two more years. Steve and Chris have created such endearing characters, and the cast is second-to-none."

Hailey Durphy and Adam (Adam Devine) should come back to the show and marry Hailey Durphy (Sarah Hyland). I think he is the right man for her.
