Last night's episode of Modern Family finished a dominant first place in the adults 18-49 demographic, ranking second overall in the ratings for the night.

"When a Tree Falls" was watched by 12.01 million people, up slightly from the audience of 11.89m two weeks ago. Modern Family ranked was narrowly beaten to first place by CBS's Criminal Minds in total viewers (12.37m). In the adults 18-49 demo, a key demographic for networks and advertisers, the show scored a 4.7/12 rating, up a notch from the previous episode, to finish as the night's highest-rated show in the demo.
